Surrey met Lancashire in the final round of the English Counties Championship at the Imperial Hotel, London. At the close of play Surrey held a lead of two points (5-3) with several games for adjudication, and ultimately secured victory by 7½–4½ (on decided games), enough to claim the championship for the second time.
