About the 1990 Congress

The Surrey Easter Chess Congress 1990 was held at the Central Library, St Nicholas Way, Sutton, Surrey, from 13 to 16 April 1990.

The Frank Winter Memorial Open was won by Grandmaster Julian Hodgson with a perfect 7/7 score. The printed sheet notes that he became the first player to win the Surrey Easter Congress with 100% in a field containing three International Masters, a Spanish Master and ten other players graded 200 or over.
