About the 1987 Congress

The Gascoigne-Pees Surrey Easter Chess Congress 1987 was held at the Central Library, St Nicholas Way, Sutton, Surrey, from 17 to 20 April 1987.

The Frank Winter Memorial Open attracted 130 competitors and was jointly won by K. C. Arkell and P. J. Rossiter on 6½/7.

The official sheet records 394 players taking part, 30 more than in 1986, and thanks Gascoigne-Pees for continued support.
