The Surrey Easter Chess Congress 1983 was held at the Civic Offices, St Nicholas Way, Sutton, Surrey, over Easter weekend: 1, 2, 3 and 4 April 1983.

The official Surrey County Chess Association prize winners sheet records results from the Frank Winter Memorial Open, Major Tournament, main all-play-all sections, novice events and special congress prizes.

The Open was a 7-round Swiss with 81 competitors. The Major Tournament, for players under 150 grading, was also a 7-round Swiss and attracted 115 competitors.
